Celebrating a Decade of Vassar Film in Washington, DC Over the last ten years, the Vassar Club of Washington, D.C. has been honored to showcase the film works of Vassar faculty, students, and alumnae/i. These alums have demonstrated their creativity as directors, cinematographers, actors, composers, producers, screenwriters, editors, and casting directors for a variety of full-length films, documentaries, narratives, shorts, silent film, comedies, drama, and animation, in living color as well as in black and white. This year, as we return to the site of our first FilmFest, the theatre at the beautiful Goethe-Institut Washington, we hope you’ll mark your calendar for October 18, 2014, and join us that weekend as we throw the biggest party of all. This milestone event will reunite many of the filmmakers who have shared their talents with us in the past, along with the volunteers and friends whose efforts made these ten years a reality. So, as we pull together the details of the event, and as you prepare your film for submission, we ask that you keep an eye out for the call for entries in June, and make plans to join us in October at the 10th Anniversary Celebration for Vassar FilmFest 2014. In the meantime, we’d love to hear from you with ideas, comments or questions—please email the 2014 Vassar FilmFest co-chairs: Yvette Downs '82 at firstname.lastname@example.org and/or Karen Cox '80 at email@example.com.
